SCRUM derives it's company name from rugby term desiring to move forward in a scrum of the five companies.
One of the shareholding companies, Biotech-Lab. acquired SCRUM in late 1999.
Biotech-Lab and SCRUM were bought up by SEIKO Co. Ltd. in June 2009. SCRUM's sales network has been enforced and financial strength has been improved.
